STUDENTS OF THE MONTH
One of our commitments to the Butte Valley community is to honor youth who show excellence in their high school studies. Each month while school is in session, we choose a girl and boy student who show exemplary achievement at Butte Valley High School, and honor them as Students of the Month. We invite these young people to attend a Lions Club dinner meeting as our guests. We present each student with a $50.00 US Savings Bond.

LIONS CLUB BARBECUE
In past years, we offered the Lions Club Barbecue in June, where we serve our world-famous barbecued beef and ribs, potato salad, and homemade desserts. We now hold our barbecue on the Fourth of July as part of a Community Celebration. We celebrate our club's birthday and the anniversary of our huge, US Flag. Those who attend have a wonderful time!

FAIR FOOD BOOTH
During the Tulelake-Butte Valley Fair in September, we've hosted a Food Booth for over twenty-five years. We serve the best barbecued beef sandwiches anywhere in the West! We also offer locally grown French fried, russet potatoes, the tastiest you can find. The Fair, one of the few remaining small-town events of it's kind, provides hours of old- fashioned fun. Make plans to take in the Fair and stop by our booth for lunch or dinner. You'll be glad you did!

FLAG PROJECT
We take great pride in our Flag Project, which we began in 1993, and completed with the raising the flag on June 2, 1996. The idea for the project began with Lion member, Rennie Cleland. As a club, our commitment to the American Flag flying atop America's Tallest Flag Pole has continued through the years. See our page about the American Eagle Flag Endowment Fund to learn how you can help us keep this flag flying high.
